On October 21-22, the 40th Anniversary of the China Steel Structure Association and the 2024 China Steel Structure Conference were held in Beijing. The conference held an award ceremony to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the China Steel Structure Association, and awarded the China Steel Structure Association Science and Technology Progress Award and Technology Innovation Award. The "Polymer Membrane Metal Composite Plate and Engineering Application" project completed by CANLON won the 2024 Technology Innovation Award.
It is understood that the application standards for the Technology Innovation Award require that the application pass the scientific and technological achievement evaluation organized by the province (ministerial, industry), autonomous region, municipality directly under the central government, and association, and be applied in practice for more than one year, complete and apply innovative technological achievements in the field of steel structure, have outstanding technological innovation, advanced technical and economic indicators, achieve a win-win situation in economic benefits, social benefits, and ecological environmental benefits, and make a significant contribution to promoting the application of steel structure buildings.
The "Polymer Membrane Metal Composite Panel and Engineering Application" project completed by CANLON - the birth of the TPO Coated Metal (TMP), has rich innovative practical significance: it includes the development of high weather-resistant TPO polymer membranes, high bonding reliability hot-melt adhesive films, continuous composite board processes, and anti-corrosion base films, to achieve efficient bonding of metal plates and TPO membranes, adapt to the differences in thermal expansion coefficients between polymer membranes and metal plates, and obtain reliability in applications under extremely cold and hot working conditions; it also includes the development of on-site roof installation application technology to form a fully welded roof system; it also includes the development of fusion photovoltaic roof system solutions, which can use special support brackets to install photovoltaic systems to ensure that the roof system and the photovoltaic system have the same lifespan.
