Technological Canlon | Robust Fire Resistance, Enhanced Safety! Canlon PVC/TPO Waterproof Membrane Passes the New National Standard B1 Test

Recently, Canlon PVC-18P polyvinyl chloride waterproof membrane and Canlon TPO-18P thermoplastic polyolefin waterproof membrane, both products of Jiangsu Canlon Building Materials Co., Ltd., have passed the authoritative testing of China Building Materials Testing & Certification Group Suzhou Co., Ltd. They have all met the requirements of GB8624-2025 "Classification of Burning Performance of Building Materials and Products" for roofing covering materials and products, specifically Class B1 (flame-retardant) burning performance, successfully obtaining national-level testing and certification. This demonstrates their robust fire-resistant capabilities in fulfilling the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development's "Good House" construction guidelines.

This testing was conducted strictly in accordance with GB/T30735-2014 and GB/T8626-2007 standards, and the system tests were completed under 15° roof slope and standard curing conditions. The two 1.8mm thick Class P polymer waterproof membranes significantly outperformed the standard limits in key indicators such as flame propagation length, burn size, burning drips, internal smoldering, flame penetration, and flame tip height. They achieved no burning drips, no internal smoldering, no flame penetration of the substrate, self-extinguishing upon removal of the flame, and controlled flame spread, fully meeting the stringent fire protection requirements of the new national standard for roofing materials, thus constructing a robust "firewall" for building roofs.

Canlon's two B1-grade waterproof membranes both adopt a polyester mesh internal reinforcement structure, which combines excellent weather resistance, welding reliability, dimensional stability and mechanical strength. They are compatible with mechanically fixed roofing systems and are widely used in industrial plants, transportation hubs, public buildings, big data centers and high-quality residences.

This time, the product passed the new national standard B1-level combustion performance test, achieving a dual upgrade in waterproofing and fire safety. This not only addresses the shortcomings in roof safety but also meets the construction requirements of a "good house" that is green, low-carbon, durable, and practical. It further improves Canlon's high-performance, high-safety, and environmentally friendly polymer waterproofing product matrix.
