CANLON supports Mongolia's largest livelihood project
Over the past 10 years, the Belt and Road Initiative has overcome geographical barriers, broken through cultural differences, integrated development needs, and aligned with the development strategies of various countries, becoming a popular international public product and international cooperation platform. Among them, Mongolia is one of the first countries to sign a cooperation document on the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” with China.
In recent years, the largest assistance project implemented by the Chinese government in the livelihood field of Mongolia is the Development Center for Disabled Children located in the west of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. On July 14, 2016, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and the then Prime Minister of Mongolia Erdenebat jointly attended the project launch ceremony. The project was completed and accepted on January 4, 2019. It has become the largest, most modern and fully functional rehabilitation and treatment place for disabled children in Mongolia.
The project has a total construction area of 14,990 square meters and a designed bed capacity of 250, which can meet the daily medical needs of 250 patients. The project has three floors above ground and one underground floor in part. The building functions include rehabilitation clinic evaluation department, rehabilitation treatment department, administrative office and rehabilitation training department, inpatient department, logistics services, etc. It fully considers the behavioral adaptability and humanized detail design of the functional space for disabled children; it pays attention to the characteristics of the severe cold climate in the region, and takes targeted and effective measures in terms of building layout, window wall structure, heating form, etc.
The project was constructed by China Railway 4th Engineering Bureau, and CANLON provided the waterproofing system. Application products include SBS modified asphalt waterproofing membranes, polyurethane waterproofing coatings, polymer cement-based waterproofing coatings, CCCW crystalline waterproofing coatings, modified asphalt waterproofing coatings and related waterproofing auxiliary materials. Through the full integration between main materials and auxiliary materials, providing high-quality waterproofing protection for all parts of the building.
The joint construction of the "Belt and Road" has continuously injected impetus into cultural exchanges between China and Mongolia and written a new chapter in official and non-governmental friendship between the two countries. The Development Center for Disabled Children has become a symbol of the profound friendship and sincere cooperation between China and Mongolia, and has also become one of the classic representative cases of Canlon Group’s foreign aid projects.
