Jinji Lake Tunnel is the first super-long open-cut tunnel built by public rails transit that crosses 5A-level lake scenic spots in China. The total length of the project is about 6.04 kilometers, the main line is about 5.4 kilometers long, and the total investment is about 6.02 billion yuan. It is planned to be completed and open to traffic by the end of 2022. The average water depth of Jinji Lake is about 1.8 meters. There are deep grooves running north-south, and the deepest reaches 5 meters. The geology of the lake bottom is complicated, while the east and west areas of the lake are the core business districts of Suzhou, which is comparable to "operating on the heart of Suzhou". It is also a great challenge to the quality of waterproof engineering.
