On November 5, 2023, the 2023 "Canlon Cup" National Building Waterproofing Industry (Waterproofer) Vocational Skills Competition was hosted by the China Building Waterproofing Association, co-organized by the National Building Materials Industry Vocational Skills Appraisal Station, and hosted by Jiangsu Canlon Building Materials Co., Ltd. The finals of the competition officially started in the Canlon CPCM Park.
Zhu Dongqing, Secretary General of China Building Waterproofing Association, Xian Yongbiao, Resident Vice President of China Building Waterproofing Association, Qu Peihua, Vice President of China Building Waterproofing Association (President of Shenzhen Waterproof Industry Association), Zhu Deming,Vice President of China Building Waterproofing Association (China Building Materials Senior Specialist of Inspection and Certification Group Suzhou Co., Ltd.) , Chao Wenge, Vice President of China Building Waterproofing Association (President of China National Building Materials Suzhou Waterproofing Research Institute Co., Ltd.) , Li Zhongren, President of Jiangsu Canlon Building Materials Co., Ltd. and team leaders from some competition areas and participating companies attended the opening ceremony of the competition.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Hu Xibao, deputy secretary-general of the China Building Waterproofing Association.
At the opening ceremony, Li Zhongren, President of Canlon, delivered a welcome speech. He said that the spirit of ingenuity is an important part of the corporate culture of CANLON, and waterproofers have won the respect of customers and the market by "kneeling to work and standing to ask for money." It also established the professional dignity of waterproofer in the new era. It is hoped that the competition will promote exchanges between players and enterprises and jointly promote the progress and development of waterproofing professional skills.
In his speech, Secretary-General Zhu Dongqing affirmed Canlon’s support for the event, congratulated the contestants of each event who entered the finals, and expressed his gratitude to the title sponsors, local associations, and co-organizers and support units in each competition area. He hopes that the contestants can compete with style and level, promote the "craftsman" spirit of the construction waterproofing industry, and ultimately achieve ideal results.
The final projects are modified asphalt membranes, polymer waterproofing membranes, and waterproofing coating spraying. The competition is divided into a theoretical examination and a practical examination. The theoretical examination accounts for 30% and the practical examination accounts for 70%. Each project of this competition will have one champion, two runners-up, and three second runners-up. The winners will be announced on the official website of the China Building Waterproofing Association.
