1.Application conditions


1.1. Substrate maintenance should meet design and specification requirements. Before the start of the waterproof project, the quality of the previous project should pass the acceptance inspection.


1.2. All kinds of pre-embedded pipe fittings are pre-embedded according to the design and specification requirements, and sealed well.


1.3. The surface of the substrate has been cleaned and is basically flat, without obvious protruding parts.


1.4. The external&internal corners of the substrate are rounded, the minimum radius of the internal corner is 50mm, and the minimum radius of the external corner is 20mm.


1.5. The surface of substrate should be dry during application, and the moisture content should not exceed 9%. During the inspection, the 1㎡ membrane can be laid flat on the substrate, and after 3 to 4 hours, there will not be any water on the covered part of the substrate and the membrane . If there appears water, it means that the moisture content is high, so you should wait for the substrate to fully dry.


2. Process flow


Substrate treatment—→Priming—→Enhanced treatment of the node parts—→Positioning, elastic thread, trial applying—→Applying to the large area with MBA-CL post-applied waterproofing membrane—→Membrane overlapping—→Seal treatment—→Fixing the termination of membrane and sealing—→Organize acceptance


3. Application steps


3.1. Substrate treatment: use shovel, broom and other tools to remove the protruding sharp corners and garbage on the substrate, and keep it dry, flat and clean.


3.2. Priming: brushing the primer is to enhance the adhesion between the waterproof membrane and the substrate. Before brushing the primer in large area, you should use a brush to brush the detail nodes, periphery and corners first. . The coating of the large-area primer should be carried out in one direction,with the uniform thickness,not revealing the bottom, not accumulating, and becoming dry till not sticky to touch.


3.3. Enhanced treatment of the node parts: Reinforcement layer should be made first at node parts(such as external&internal corners, application joints, deformation joints, post-casting belts, wall-penetrating pipes). The width of the reinforcement layer should be 300-500mm.


3.4. Positioning, elastic thread, trial applying: paste the control line on the base coat according to the actual lap area, strictly follow the control line to lay the membrane in trial and actually lay the membrane, to ensure that the width of the membrane overlap is within the scope of the specification. Determine the elastic linear density according to the characteristics of the site, so as to ensure that the membrane is pasted straight, and there will be no skew caused by the cumulative error. The membrane should be laid in trial first, and the shape can be cut according to the requirements before the actual applying.


3.5. Applying to the large area with MBA-CL post-applied waterproofing membrane: Use a paper knife to gently cut the separator paper on the lower surface of the membrane, take care not to scratch the membrane, slowly tear the separator paper, and at the same time, apply the membrane along the base line. (In the low temperature , the substrate or the bonding surface of the membrane can be heated to improve the bonding effect between the membrane and the substrate surface.) When laying the membrane, it should be aligned with the baseline at any time, not too fast, so as not to cause deviations that are difficult to correct. When applying the membrane, it must not be stretched with force. After applying, immediately roll forward with rubber rollers to both sides to discharge the air, so that the membrane is firmly pasted on the substrate. When pasting membranes in large area, do not remove the separator film at the overlapping part on the back of the membranes, as this may contaminate the adhesive surface or cause false adhesion.


3.6. Membrane overlapping: remove the isolation film at the overlapping position of the lower layer of the membrane, and then lap it, align the upper layer of the membrane with the control line of the lap and paste it on the lower layer of the membrane (when in winter, you can firstly use the the hot air welding gun to heat the overlapping parts of the membrane; use rubber roller to roll forward and outward forcefully, so as to discharge the air, and the adhesion will be firm. The overlap width is 80mm.


3.7. Seal treatment: The weak parts, such as the overlapping and the end of of the membrane, and the special-shaped parts of the membrane that are cut more, special sealant should be used .


3.8.Fixing the termination of membrane and sealing: the termination of the membrane should be sealed with special sealant, and the end of the facade should be fixed with metal bead and sealed with special sealant.


3.9. Organize acceptance.
