Recently, the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government awarded the Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Award Certificate. The project "Research and Industrialization of Nuclear Power Grade High-Reliability Self-Healing Special MBP Impermeable Composite Material", completed by Canlon and Southeast University, won the second prize of Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award .
The Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Award is an award given by the Jiangsu Provincial Government to scientific and technological personnel and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the scientific and technological progress and economic and social development of Jiangsu Province. This award is given in order to fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and its subsequent plenary sessions, to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches on Jiangsu's work, to take the lead in promoting the integration of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation, to accelerate the creation of an industrial and technological innovation center with global influence, and to make Jiangsu an important base for developing new productive forces.
The development and industrialization of "Research and Industrialization of High-Reliability Self-Healing Special MBP Anti-Seepage Composite Material for Nuclear Power Plants" aims to address the threat of leakage and corrosion in underground engineering structures such as the nuclear island, nuclear auxiliary facilities, and nuclear waste storage in nuclear power plants. It prevents groundwater (vapor) from migrating into the building structure and causing corrosion damage to reinforced concrete, thus avoiding nuclear contamination from nuclear waste leakage and further enhancing the safety and reliability of nuclear power plants. Canlon, in collaboration with Southeast University, has overcome technical bottlenecks in anti-seepage materials for nuclear power plants, such as weak bidirectional barrier properties, poor adhesion to concrete, and susceptibility to slippage damage. This significantly reduces the tensile slippage damage to the anti-seepage membrane caused by foundation settlement and earthquakes, ensuring highly reliable anti-seepage and waterproofing for underground nuclear power plant engineering.
