On December 18, the 16th Wuxi International Energy Exhibition opened grandly in Wuxi, Jiangsu. On that day, at the award ceremony of the "International Cooperation Matchmaking Conference and Global Photovoltaic Industry Conference" held at the same time, Suzhou Canlon New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Looking back at the beginning of 2022, the wave of rising electricity prices has surged. According to incomplete statistics, the documents of the Development and Reform Commissions of 13 provinces and cities have made it clear that the general industrial electricity price policy of the province, among which the peak period electricity price has increased by as much as 71.96% and as little as 50%. At the same time, most provinces have proposed that the peak period electricity price will increase by another 20% on the basis of the peak period electricity price! This electricity price fluctuation has had a profound impact on the development pattern of industrial and commercial distributed photovoltaics.

With the continuous increase in industrial and commercial electricity consumption, the rapid development of industrial and commercial distributed photovoltaics has been strongly promoted. In 2023, the national total social electricity consumption was 9.22 trillion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 6.7%, and the per capita electricity consumption was 6,539 kWh. The recovery of the national economy has driven the growth rate of electricity consumption to increase year-on-year. The growth in electricity consumption has provided huge market opportunities for industrial and commercial photovoltaics. In the first three quarters of 2024, the total social electricity consumption was 740.94 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 7.9%. This data further demonstrates the vigorous vitality and huge potential of the industrial and commercial photovoltaic market.

Looking at the first three quarters of 2024, the installed capacity of industrial and commercial photovoltaics reached 62.42GW, an increase of 83% year-on-year, with the fastest growth rate of industrial and commercial photovoltaics. The top three provinces are Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Guangdong, with new grid-connected capacities of 7.06GW, 6.82GW, and 6.36GW, accounting for 32% of the total. The new grid-connected capacity of the top ten provinces totaled 48.85GW, accounting for 78% of the country's new industrial and commercial photovoltaic grid-connected capacity.

While the industrial and commercial distributed photovoltaic maintained rapid growth in the first three quarters, we found that the cost of photovoltaic systems has dropped to a historical low, and there are still many projects that cannot be started due to revenue issues. Looking closely, the commonality of such projects is that they all have complex and diverse problems, resulting in the EPC total price being unable to meet the system cost and other expenses. Looking back at the completed distributed photovoltaic projects, because the roof life was not considered in the initial design of construction, the business owners suffered economic losses due to roof leaks, and the power station investors suffered power station investment losses.
