What is the Rock Coating System?
Rock Protection System is a three-layer composite long-lasting waterproof protection system specially designed by Canlon for concrete roofs. Based on the design concept of layered material selection and gradient protection, it takes into account the adhesion of the base layer, the crack resistance of the structure and the weather resistance of the outdoors, and is perfectly adapted to the complex use environment of traditional concrete roofs such as sun exposure, rain, temperature difference and easy cracking of the base layer.
Construction principle of curtain grouting technology
First, the MPU-602 water-based epoxy primer, as a basic anchoring layer, can fully seal the fine pores of the substrate. After curing, it effectively strengthens the loose substrate and significantly improves the bonding strength between the topcoat and the concrete substrate. This avoids problems such as peeling, delamination, and hollowing of the waterproof layer from the root, laying a solid foundation for subsequent waterproofing construction.
After the base layer is prepared, the intermediate layer of MPU-S quick-apply smooth polyurethane waterproof coating is applied in batches according to the standard thickness. This coating has excellent flexibility and outstanding tensile strength, which can effectively offset the deformation caused by thermal expansion and contraction of concrete roofs and structural micro-settlement, easily cope with minor cracks in the base layer, and build a solid waterproof defense for the main structure of the roof.
The final layer is a coat of FPU-A high-strength, wear-resistant, single-component polyurea waterproof coating, serving as the system's weather-resistant protective surface layer. Polyurea materials possess extremely strong resistance to ultraviolet rays, high and low temperatures, aging, and rain erosion. They are also wear-resistant and foot-step-resistant, protecting against long-term outdoor exposure to sunlight, wind and rain, and friction from fallen leaves and debris, thus providing long-term protection for the intermediate waterproof layer from environmental damage.
Rock Coating System Construction Process
1. Grassroots processing
Clean and grind the base layer to ensure it is solid and flat; repair cracks and holes with polymer cement mortar or sealant; round the inside and outside corners.
2. Apply primer
Water-based epoxy primer is evenly rolled onto the substrate surface.
3. Detailed node enhancement processing
Apply polyurethane waterproof coating to corners, pipe roots, floor drains, and other areas, lay a reinforcing layer, and then apply another layer of coating to completely cover the area, ensuring there are no bubbles or wrinkles.
4. Apply polyurethane in multiple layers.
The first coat should be applied thinly and evenly. After it is surface dry, apply the second coat, perpendicular to the first coat, and repeat until the designed thickness is achieved.
5. Apply single-component polyurea.
After the polyurethane layer has fully cured, apply a single-component polyurea waterproof coating evenly as a wear-resistant protective layer to ensure that the coating is uniform and there are no gaps.
6. Acceptance
The finished surface should be flat, uniform, and free of missed areas; measure the thickness to ensure it meets requirements; conduct a water tightness test to confirm there is no leakage.
