CANVAP PE06
CANLON
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
CANVAPTM PE06 is a multi-layered, self-adhesive vapour barrier manufactured from polymer modified bitumen with a high performance polyethylene film top layer. It has the functions of impermeability, waterproof, and moisture-proof. It can prevent indoor water vapor from penetrating into the envelope structure, so as to effectively ensure the thermal performance of insulation materials and durability of the structures.
USES
CANVAPTM PE06 can be used as a vapour barrier over most common roof deck types:
l Concrete / cementitious
l Metal Plywood panels, timber boards, oriented strand board (OSB)
CHARACTERISTICS / ADVANTAGES
l Easy installation in a fully adhered roof build-up from self-adhesive property.
l Without the requirement for additional weight/ballast and/or mechanical fastenings.
l High self adhesion strength allows high wind design loads.
l Provides an air/water tight layer.
l Stays flexible at low temperatures.
l High water vapour resistance in combination with all types of membranes.
l Accommodates a wide range of roof system, deck types and substrate combinations.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
l Substrate: The supporting structure must be of sufficient structural strength to apply all new and existing layers. A uniform, clean, dry, firm, and smooth substrate must be required without any sharp protrusion, burrs, grease, bitumen, oil, dust and loose surface sand / gravel dressing. Dust must be completely removed before application of the product by suitable dust extraction equipment.
l Strictly follow installation procedures as defined in method statements, application manuals and working instructions which must always be adjusted to the actual site conditions.
l Unroll a sheet and align into the correct position. Subsequent sheets must be rolled out and aligned taking into consideration the overlap seam requirements. For profiled metal decks, the sheets must be laid in the direction of the deck ribs. Where side/longitudinal overlap seams occur, they must be fully supported by aligning over the full surface of a top rib.
l A pressure roller must be applied to achieve effectively sealed overlap seams or by applying pressure. If seams are not immediately closed after unrolling the CANVAPTM AL60, all seams must be cleaned with cleaner before reconstruction.
l All details such as internal and external corners, upstands, vent pipes, support metalwork etc. must be cut and sealed effectively. CANVAPTM AL60 must always be attached on the warm side of the thermal insulation. The upper edge of the CANVAPTM AL60 must be taken up to the top edge / surface of the insulation.
LIMITATIONS
l Installation work must only be carried out by trained and approved contractors experienced in this type of application.
l Not suitable as permanent waterproofing. It is not designed as a roofing membrane and therefore cannot replace the waterproofing membrane, only as a vapour barrier.
l The use of CANVAPTM PE06 is limited to geographical locations with average monthly minimum temperatures of -50 °C. Permanent ambient temperature during use is limited to +50 °C.
l The limiting factor in the wind up-lift resistance of the adhered roofing assembly will be the adhesion strength of the CANVAPTM PE06 to the substrate.
