CANVAP PE02 Reinforced Waterproof Breathable PE Film

CANVAP™ PE02 waterproof breathable film is made of high density polyethylene through special spunbond process, designed for air tightness and condensation control of various building structures. It has the functions of impermeability, waterproof and breathability. It can prevent indoor water vapor from penetrating into the envelope structure, so as to effectively ensure the thermal performance of insulation materials and durability of the structures.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION


CANVAPTM PE02 waterproof breathable film is made of high density polyethylene through special spunbond process, designed for air tightness and condensation control of various building structures. It has the functions of impermeability, waterproof and breathability. It can prevent indoor water vapor from penetrating into the envelope structure, so as to effectively ensure the thermal performance of insulation materials and durability of the structures.

Storage Conditions

Be stored in original unopened and undamaged sealed packaging in dry conditions and temperatures between +5 °C and +35 °C.

Store in a horizontal position. Do not stack pallets of the rolls on top of each other, or under pallets of any other materials during transport or storage.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS


l Before laying the film, a quality inspection should be conducted on previous process to ensure it is qualified before proceeding with the construction.

l Substrate: The supporting structure must be of sufficient structural strength to apply all new and existing layers. A uniform, clean, dry, firm, and smooth substrate must be required without any sharp protrusion, burrs, grease, bitumen, oil, dust and loose surface sand / gravel dressing. Dust must be completely removed before application of the product by suitable dust extraction equipment.

l Strictly follow installation procedures as defined in method statements, application manuals and working instructions which must always be adjusted to the actual site conditions.

l Measure and cut membrane according to construction drawings. Ensure that the size is accurate and the edge is neat.

l CANVAPTM PE02 is usually layed directly on structural deck, and fixed with insulation board through fastener, or directly pressed and integrated with the system. The film should be smooth and straight when laying on structural wall, no folds.

l Use smooth shank, electro-plated galvanized nails for fastening shingles to get the best seal. Hand nailing generally provides a better seal than power-activated nailing. If nailing of the membrane is necessary on steep slopes during hot or extreme cold weather, backnail and cover the nails by overlapping with the next sheet.

l All details such as internal and external corners, upstands, vent pipes, support metalwork etc. must be cut and sealed effectively. CANVAPTM PE02 must always be attached on the warm side of the thermal insulation. The upper edge of the CANVAPTM PE02 must be taken up to the top edge / surface of the insulation.

l The film should be constructed on the building facade in sections according to the height, from bottom to top. Each section should be paved from top to bottom, and the sections should be overlapped vertically in the direction of water flow.

l Pay special attention to the sealing treatment at the overlapping parts and perforations of the membrane. Ensure that it is dry before sealing.

l After the installation is completed, an engineering inspection should be carried out to ensure that the various properties of the film meet the design requirements.


LIMITATIONS


l Installation work must only be carried out by trained and approved contractors experienced in this type of application.

l Not suitable as permanent waterproofing. It is not designed as a wall membrane and therefore cannot replace the waterproofing membrane, only as a vapour barrier.

l Apply CANVAPTM PE02 in fair weather when the air, substrate, and film are at temperatures of -5°C to 50°C. If the temperature falls outside this range, insulation or cooling measures should be taken. Construction should be avoided under conditions of wind force 5 or above. In case of abnormal weather, protective measures should be taken and temporary fixation should be increased.
