The Taihu Lake Tunnel Project

Project Introduction

Taihu Tunnel is located in Binhu District, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, China, between Mashan Street and Nanquan District. It is a lakebed tunnel of the Changzhou-Wuxi section of the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou Southern Expressway.

It was completed and opened to traffic at the end of 2021. It's 10.79 kilometers long and 43.6 meters wide, and has become China's longest and widest underwater tunnel.
